“Dizzy Fingers” – 2 pm, Sunday 20 October 2024.

We are pleased to announce the date and programme for our first concert – Dizzy Fingers, Sunday 20 October, 2pm to be held at St. Peter’s Church, Nova Scotia Drive, Waipu. We believe it is the first time there has been an organ and piano concert of this nature in Bream Bay. (If we are wrong however, please email the Webmaster at Bream Bay Anglicans – breambayanglicans@gmail.com – telling when a concert was previously held.)

Anne Connolly-Munt and Stephen Beech will play Organ and Piano solos and duets. The programme includes well known pieces by Bach, Haydn, Debussy and Handel as well as the upbeat “Funeral March of a Marionette” by Gounod and the foot tapping “Dizzy Fingers” by Zez Comfrey.

The concert is open to all. Door sales only. Adults $10; FOTO Members $5; Children under 14 FREE.

Our guest performer, Stephen Beech, will visit us from St. George’s Presbyterian Church, Takapuna.

Stephen Beech first became fascinated with the organ while a choirboy at St. Paul’s, Symonds Street, Auckland. He has been playing the organ most of his life and built the organ pictured above. Stephen is currently organist at St. George’s Presbyterian Church, Takapuna where he presides over the three manual “Rodgers” digital organ, a concert instrument of note on Auckland’s North Shore. We very much look forward to welcoming Stephen to Bream Bay.
