Step this way!

If you could do with a fuller wardrobe, get along to our shop at The Centre, Waipu. Our racks are crammed with highly wearable items. Check us out. Everyone seems to find something.

Opening hours: Monday – Friday 9.30 am – 2.30 pm; Some Saturdays 10.00 -1.30pm – if possible! (We try to open on Saturdays but sometimes a lack of volunteers prevents our doing so.)

Address: The Anglican Opportunity Shop, The Centre, Waipu, Northland 0510.

We stock books, clothes, shoes, china, glass, homeware, ornaments, toys, DVDs and CDs.

Donations – We usually welcome donations of quality, resalable items in good condition – clean and, in the case of clothes, nicely folded or ironed please – but during December 2024 we will take anything that is NOT clothing Please bring items to the shop during opening hours. We can sometimes pick donations up – please use the form on our  Contact Us page to let us know about such a situation.

Volunteering – To enquire about volunteering please contact us via the form on our Contact Us page.

Distribution of funds raised – Approximately 60% of funds raised through the Waipu Anglican Opportunity Shop are distributed to Northland charitable organisations, while approximately 30% transfers to the Bream Bay Anglican Mission to support the church and its work. (The remaining portion covers expenses or is invested to ensure business sustainability.)

Among the organisations to benefit in the last year are: Northland Emergency Services Trust (Rescue helicopter), St John Bream Bay, Northland Coastguard, Ruakaka and Waipu Cove Surf Lifesaving clubs, Tyrphina Womens Refuge, Starship Hospital and others.
