Sunday at 2pm – ‘Focus on Favourites’ at First Sunday Hymns

Post on behalf of FOTO

This Sunday, 6 April, 2pm at St. Peter’s Church, Nova Scotia Drive, Waipu

FOTO are delighted to be hosting “Our favourite hymns” this Sunday at 2pm. This is a free-to-attend event and guaranteed to be a lot of fun. It is open to all. The singing will take about an hour and will be followed by a genial afternoon tea.

Submit your favourite hymn

Perhaps YOU have a favourite hymn? If you would like the group to sing your favourite hymn at the May First Sunday Hymns session, submit details to the FOTO organisers now. You can print off the form here or, as is indicated in the image of the form below [scroll down], you can gather all the info on an email and send it to waipufoto@gmail.com.

It is now too late to submit a request for the next session this coming Sunday at 2pm (6 April), because the programme is full. FOTO member John Noakes will be leading us in with three of his favourites, and we know now that the first of them is “When I Survey the Wondrous Cross” by Isaac Watts, a hymn writer we focussed on at the March session.

Born in 1674 Isaac Watts wrote some of the most famous and best loved hymns in our hymn book including “Joy to the World: and “Glorious Things of Thee are Spoken”.
