Waipu Cycle & Walkway Group asks: Could you sponsor a wayside sign?

Post on behalf of Waipu Cycle & Walkway Group

It’s taken over a decade to get the Waipu Cove Trail largely in place. (The construction of the final stretch – Riverside corner – is the responsibility of Whangarei District Council.)

Activities to date have included drainage, track construction, fencing and wayside planting and the committee responsible for the construction are now focussed on developing wayside signs.

Would you like to sponsor a sign? To sponsor a smaller sign it costs $1500 (there are 5 of these) and there are also seven big signs – which cost $2,000 each to sponsor. Sponsor names will appear in a small plaque at the edge of the relevant sign. This is an opportunity which may appeal to individuals, families or clubs and groups. Needless to say your contribution would be a massive help to the Cycle & Walkway Group. It has taken years to raise the money required to complete the track. So many people in our local and national community have contributed over the years in a myriad of ways, it is amazing…and it is good to be the home straight.

If you can help the committee get the signs up by sponsoring one or more, please contact Tim Manning on 027 221 5538 or Angela Stolwerk on 021 823 966.
