Bring your loved pets to be blessed on Sunday 5 October – St. Paul’s, Ruakaka at 10.30 am

Teaching children to love and respect animals is a good idea as it is often the first experience children have of loving outside their immediate family, and when we think of all the animals, we should not just remember pets – but also marine life, and the entirety of the wider ecosystem, ecology and planet.

This year’s “Blessing of the Animals” service will be held at St. Paul’s, Ruakaka at 10.30 am, Sunday 5 October. This is the closest day to the Feast of St. Francis.

The speaker will be Brenda Leeuwenberg who is likely to reflect on sand-mining. (Brenda organised the first Bream Bay meeting leading to the on-going community-lead response to proposed mining in Bream Bay.)
